Default Question about monk secondary...

Hi, I want to make a monk character but I want to choose a secondary profession to make him most effective PvP. I know all combinations are supposed to have their own benefits... but I was wondering if one or two in particular were better. Or just what the differance is playing style wise. If I had tons of time I would just check out all the combinations myself. Thanks.

monk/n use curses, you wont waste much energy and you wont have to keep casting over and over. i use malaise, it will drain another monks energy real easy, and the minor health degeneration on yourself is not much to complain aobut

warrior, monk-warriors are great in pvp and allow you to equip all the warrior skills to evade damage things and allow you to do warrior weapon dps

Its completely up to your play style, elementalists are good for taking out groups while warriors are good for taking out single units, every class has a huge array of skills meaning any 2 combinations of classes can compliment each other if you try

Ahh, thanks for the input. Just out of curiosity, what advantage does a monk/warrior have over a warrior/monk. It seems like the second would be a superior combination.

A warrior monk is putting all his defence onto his AL and backing that up with some minor healing. His fear is energy drain and Empathy type counters.

A Monk warrior is putting all his defence into the ability to heal far faster than he can take damage and countering with some warrior attacks. His fear is backfire and Hexes.

It all comes down to your play style. I love playing my Monk/Ranger as instead I use my pet and pet attacks to deal damage and use my healing to out heal any damage vs me (or pet).

But it still comes down to 2 things - how are you going to survive damage and how are you going to kill others? (they can all be countered by other classes and skills, so nothing is an uber template).
